Charity water: Bottled water for a good cause

Summary

The Zurich Duty Free water sold in the duty-free shops operated by Dufry at Zurich Airport also serves a good cause. For every bottle of water sold, 50 centimes are donated to a charitable organisation.

From September 2019 to May 2021, the sale of bottled water in the Zurich Duty Free Stores supported the Children's Hospital (Kispi) Zurich. The revenue from the collection campaign was presented in form of a cheque worth CHF 167’676 by Isabell Joos (Manager Retail Airside, Flughafne Zürich AG, Isabel Zarza, (Dufry COO Central & North Europe, Russia and Africa), Michael Bruderer (Dufry Operations General Manager Zurich Airport, and Lorenz Asch (Dufry Country Commercial Category Manager), Renzo Radice (Global Head Corporate Communication and Public Affairs, Dufry International AG), to Oliver Sack (Managing Director of the Eleonora Foundation) and Eva Lindemann (Fundraiser of the Eleonora Foundation).

Cooperation with Dufry AG

The "Charity Water" project was launched in 2014 as a joint project of Flughafen Zürich AG and Dufry. Since then, Zurich Duty Free mineral water has been sold in the Zurich Duty Free Stores at Zurich Airport for a good cause. For every bottle of mineral water sold at the price of CHF 2.50, which is obtained from the Adello spring in Adelboden, 50 centimes are donated to a charitable organisation. After Schweizer Berghilfe, Kinder-Spitex Kanton Zürich, Smiling Gecko and Pro Juventute, Kinderspital Zürich is the fifth organisation jointly supported by Flughafen Zürich AG and Dufry .

Kispi Zürich

From mid-September 2019 until the end of May 2021, support was provided to the Children's Hospital Zurich. The Children's Hospital is a non-profit private institution serving all children and adolescents. It is the largest university children's hospital in Switzerland and one of the leading centres for paediatric and adolescent medicine in Europe. The hospital's 2300 dedicated employees are committed to the well-being of over 100’000 young paediatric patients from their first day of life until the age of 18.

Kinderhilfe Sternschnuppe (new partner)

The foundation Kinderhilfe Sternschnuppe has been supported since June 2021. Since 1993, the Swiss non-profit organisation has brought joy and excitement into the lives of children and young people living with an illness or disability. It fulfils the dearest wish of children and gives the whole family the opportunity for exciting excursions and worry-free family activities.
