Traffic figures
26’913 passengers were handled at Zurich Airport in April (-99.0% vs. previous year). Local passengers decreased by -98.9% and transfer passengers decreased by -99.6%. The transfer rate, which was at 28.3% last April is at 11.9% in the month under review.

Air traffic movements
In April, air traffic movements decreased by -91.7% to 1’921 versus previous year. 

Traffic ratios
The average seat load factor saw a decrease of -59.9 percentage points to 20.1% and the average passenger per movement figure decreased to 37.0 (131.8 previous year).

Commercial Activities 
Total turnover in April was CHF 4.6m (-91.0% vs. previous year). The decrease divides into -99.5% for airside and -78.6% for landside.

Traffic volumes in May are expected on a comparable low level as in April. From today’s perspective, a slow recovery will start in June. On the commercial side, most shops and restaurants on the landside have reopened on May 11. Airside commercial activities will be resumed at a later stage with increasing passenger numbers.
