1’383’209 passengers were handled at Zurich Airport in September (+157.9% vs. previous year). Local passengers increased by 125.3% and transfer passengers increased by 358.2%. The transfer rate, which was at 14.1% last September is at 25.0% in the month under review.
The monthly comparison shows that passenger numbers are at 47.9% of 2019 level.

Air traffic movements

In September, air traffic movements increased by 67.3% to 16’068 versus previous year. The monthly comparison shows that air traffic movements are at 65.9% of 2019 level.

Traffic ratios

The average seat load factor saw an increase of 21.0 percentage points to 71.0% and the average passenger per movement figure increased to 116.3 (82.0 previous year).

Commercial Activities

Total turnover in September was CHF 33.5m (+91.7% vs previous year). The increase divides into 155.0% for airside and 50.3% for landside.
