Key traffic figures Zurich Airport June 2020

Summary
In June 2020, 201’692 passengers passed through Zurich Airport, corresponding to a decrease of -93.0% compared to last year, yet an increase of around 460% compared with May 2020. With the start of the summer holidays, a further increase in passenger volume is expected.
Local passengers decreased by -92.2% to 160’697 in June 2020. The transfer rate is at 18.7% in the month under review (-10.2 percentage points vs. previous year) and transfer passengers decreased by -95.6% to 37’012.

In June 2020, air traffic movements decreased to 5’048 (-79.6% vs. previous year). The average passenger per movement figure decreased to 94.1 (-29.9% vs. previous year). The average seat load factor is at 57.3% (-24.2 percentage points vs. previous year).

In June 2020, a total of 19’911 tons of freight were transported at Zurich Airport. This corresponds to a decrease in freight volume of -45.7% compared to last year. At the same time, the number of pure cargo flights rose by 297 flight movements to a total of 330 take-offs or landings, compared to June 2019.

Summer holidays 2020
The start of the summer holidays in the catchment area of Zurich Airport will also lead to an increase in passenger numbers this year, albeit on a comparatively low level. On individual days, more than 25,000 passengers are expected to depart, arrive or transfer at Zurich Airport.
