MSD and itelligence join the community of THE CIRCLE

Summary
The global biopharmaceutical company MSD is expanding in Switzerland and is opening a new office for around 250 employees at THE CIRCLE. Also, SAP advisory company itelligence AG Switzerland is moving its head office to THE CIRCLE. Key factors in the decision were the campus, on-site synergies and good access by rail, road and air.

MSD (Merck Sharp & Dohme AG), a leading global biopharmaceutical company, is expanding in Switzerland with premises covering around 4,300 square metres. It chose THE CIRCLE at Zurich Airport for its new site. The community-based approach and synergies with other tenants were key factors in the decision to move to Zurich. Another reason behind the decision in favour of THE CIRCLE was to offer employees, clients and partners a modern, future-oriented work environment at Switzerland’s best-connected location.

Thomas Lang, Managing Director of MSD in Switzerland, comments: “The close proximity to science and research institutions, the central location and the modern implementation concept are ideal prerequisites for our new site. We are looking forward to setting up our fifth base in Switzerland in such an innovative and forward-looking work environment. Our global networking drive will focus on pursuing our mission to improve the health of people worldwide through research and the development of innovations at this location too.”

In addition to relocating employees from other sites throughout the world, new staff will be recruited. By the time the new site is completed and opens in 2021, over 250 MSD employees will work at Zurich Airport.

The SAP advisory company itelligence AG, with 140 employees, will also move to THE CIRCLE and make Zurich Airport its Swiss headquarters.
Claude Flükiger, Managing Director of itelligence AG Switzerland, comments: “We were impressed by the concept of THE CIRCLE. The combination of ulttra-modern offices, excellent opportunities for holding meetings and seminars and the outstanding location with first-class transport access offers our customers, partners and employees ideal conditions for successful collaboration. Also, the proximity to partners and in particular SAP AG, which is also moving to THE CIRCLE, was another key factor in the decision.”

The co-owners of THE CIRCLE – Zurich Airport AG (51%) and Swiss Life (49%) – look forward to welcoming MSD and itelligence to the community of THE CIRCLE.

About THE CIRCLE – opening in September 2020
THE CIRCLE will become a central attraction that shapes and strengthens Zurich Airport.
