That expects you

As a trainee you will gain in-depth insight into the Aviation division over a period of 24 months. You will complete three department assignments and contribute your knowledge and know-how to the Planning & Optimization, Performance Management and Flight OPS Analytics teams for eight months each.

For your personal development you will take part in varied seminars and internal workshops. The exchange and contact with representatives from different business areas and departments enable you to build up a comprehensive company network. You will be supported and supervised by experienced mentors. Motivated buddies accompany and support you in our day-to-day business.

The aim of our trainee programs is subsequent continued employment at Flughafen Zürich AG.

What we move

The Aviation division coordinates all work for safe, high-quality and efficient flight operations. This includes all services for travelers on departure, arrival and transfer, the coordination of stand allocation and taxi traffic management as well as safety and security. This area includes the Ground Operation and Flight Operations departments.

The Ground Operations department is responsible for aviation ground handling and building infrastructure planning and development at Zurich Airport.

Main tasks Ground Operations:

  • Management of operational infrastructures such as stands, gates, security controls, check-in desks, baggage sorting and baggage claim belts
  • Cooperation and monitoring of the quality of ground handling companies (check-in, gate and apron handling processes, de-icing), cantonal police (border and security control), airlines, customs, skyguide and internal services
  • Creation of flight plan forecasts, needs assessment and allocation of resources (security control personnel, check-in desks, etc.) as well as the development of utilization concepts (stands, gates, etc.)

The Flight Operations department ensures safe, punctual and customer-oriented flight operations. The Flight OPS Analytics team uses data-based capacity and process analyzes of flight operations to create the basis for performance management and its tasks in the area of process optimization and the development of measures. Together they strive for a sustainable airside development of the airport and support the goals of the Flight Operations department.

Main tasks Flight OPS Analytics / Performance Management:

  • Ensuring efficient and customer-oriented flight and apron operations
  • Ongoing optimisation of flight operations processes for stable and punctual flight operations
  • Further development of the control capability by implementig new flight operations processes and systems
