Certain airlines or destination countries require a negative Covid-19 test to enter the destination country. Please enquire about the regulations of your airline or destination country well in advance of your departure.

Based on a Federal Council directive, guests at restaurants and bars at Zurich Airport are required to show a Covid certificate. Excluded are all outdoor terraces, takeaways and restaurants in the transit area.

You need a Covid certificate to access most public facilities. You have a valid Covid certificate from the EU (EU-DCC)? This is valid in Switzerland. You have been vaccinated or recovered abroad and do not have an EU-DCC? Apply for a Swiss Covid certificate. You can find all the information here:

Checkport Switzerland has been operating a Covid-19 travel helpline. Specialists support customers on all travel questions under Covid-19 conditions.

The helpline is available daily from 08:00 - 18:00 on 0900 734 736 (or 0900 REISEN). The call charges CHF 2.50/minute. Information is provided in German, English and French

At Zurich Airport, it is mandatory to wear a mask. Passengers and visitors are requested to bring a mask to Zurich Airport. They can also be purchased at Zurich Airport in the following locations:

• Airport Shopping (pharmacy, Migros etc.).
• Selecta hygiene vending machines at the boarding pass screening in Terminals 1 and 2.
• Airside: Duty Free Levels 1 and 2, pharmacy, Press & Books and at the gate stores.

Please check with your airline to determine which masks are approved for your flight.

People arriving in Switzerland from certain countries and areas are required to go into quarantine. The Swiss Federal Council informs which countries are affected and how the quarantine is to be implemented. Under certain conditions, recovered and fully vaccinated people as well as children under 16 years of age are exempt from the quarantine and testing requirement.

Arrival

Due to a decision by authorities, people entering Switzerland by aircraft must present a negative Corona test (PCR or rapid antigen test) if they have not been fully vaccinated or can prove that they have contracted Covid 19 in the last six months. Children under 16 years are exempt from testing. In addition, persons arriving in Switzerland from high-risk countries are required to go into quarantine. Under certain conditions, recovered, fully vaccinated persons and children under 16 are exempt from the quarantine. Further information:

Passengers entering Switzerland are also required by the authorities to complete a federal entry form before entering the country. Transfer passengers do not need to present a negative test for transit. Please follow the rules of the airlines and destination countries. Under certain conditions, recovered and fully vaccinated persons are exempt from the requirement to provide contact information upon entry.

Transfer passengers do not need a negative PCR test or rapid antigen test for transferring (please consult the requirements of the airlines and destination countries).

Departure

Please inform yourself about the status of your flight before your departure. Due to the current restrictions, we kindly ask that you arrive at Zurich Airport on time.

A health check on departure may be carried out directly at the gate, if specified by the airline or the destination country. In this case, body temperature is measured at the gate using a hand-held thermometer. Further information is provided by the airlines.

Due to Covid-19 the car park P2 as well as the parking fields P16 and P17 remain temporarily closed. For terminal near parking head to P1 (Terminal 1) and P3 (Terminal 2) or P6 (four minutes walk to the terminals). For travellers looking for a budget offer, we recommend parking field P60, which can also be booked online. We thank you for your understanding.

Masks are mandatory at Zurich Airport. Persons collecting passengers in the arrival halls are obliged to wear a mask and follow the instructions of the Passenger Flow Managers.

Special assistance

We continue to care for our passengers with reduced mobility (PRM). Where social distancing is not possible (transport from/to the gate, boarding), protective clothing (masks, gloves, aprons) will be used for both the protection of the passenger and others. Please note that you must always register your disability through your travel agency or airline, not via the airport.

The Service Center on the 1st floor opposite Parking 2 is currently open from 06:00h until 30 minutes after the last arrival (see location here).

Airside info desk: The opening hours vary according to the timetable.

The information desks in Arrivals 1 & 2 are accessible between 06:00 – 22:30h or until the last arrival, but they are not staffed.
