On June 15 and 16, 2024, the Summit on Peace in Ukraine will take place on the Bürgenstock in the canton of Nidwalden. The observation decks at Zurich Airport will remain closed from June 14 to 16 due to the high security requirements. Passenger processes will not be affected.
Increased security requirements and traffic at the airport
State representatives from all over the world will be traveling to Switzerland for the Summit on Peace in Ukraine in mid-June. The specific arrival and departure times of the participants may in certain cases be determined at short notice and can change at any time. For this reason, an increased volume of air traffic and security is to be expected at Zurich Airport during the whole weekend of June 14 to 16, 2024.
For passengers
According to current planning, no changes are expected for passengers at Zurich Airport. There may be delays to individual take-offs or landings. However, access routes to the airport, passenger processes and regular flight operations will not be affected by the increased security and traffic volume. Passengers can plan their journey to the airport as usual. As always, we recommend traveling by public transport.
For visitors
For safety reasons, the observation desks will remain closed from June 14 to 16, 2024. No airport tours will take place. There may also be additional security measures around the airport site. At Glattbrugg, various sections of the skating routes and paths along the airport are closed. A diversion is signalised.
