Charity Water –Mineral water for a good cause

“Charity Water” was launched in 2014 as a joint project of Flughafen Zürich AG and Avolta.

The Charity Water project

Charity Water was launched in 2014 as a joint project of Flughafen Zürich AG and Avolta. Since then, Zurich duty free mineral water – for a good cause – has been on sale in the duty free stores at Zurich Airport. The water comes from the Adello mineral spring in Adelboden and for each CHF 2.50 bottle sold, 50 cents are donated to a charity.

To date, around CHF 2.3 million has been donated to the organisation.

Schweizer Tafel

The Schweizer Tafel Foundation builds these bridges by collecting surplus food that is still perfectly edible and distributing it free of charge to social institutions such as soup kitchens, homeless shelters, women's shelters, and food distribution centers. The rescued food ends up on plates instead of in trash cans, combining sustainability with solidarity for people affected by poverty.

Stiftung Kinderhilfe Sternschnuppe - Special experience day at the airport – 11 July 2022

In cooperation with Avolta, Autogrill and various internal organisations, a special experience day for the children and their families was held at Zurich Airport in July 2022. After being welcomed by Rolli, the rolling suitcase mascot, the children enjoyed a bus tour round the airport, admired the runway intersection and explored the Winter Services hall. And of course the fire brigade’s water show was not to be missed. To round off the day, Autogrill hosted a pasta meal in the Air restaurant.
