Charity water at Zurich Airport: around 150,000 Swiss francs for the social welfare organization Pfarrer Sieber

Summary

A Swiss mineral water is sold in the duty-free stores at Zurich Airport. For each bottle, 50 centimes are donated to a charitable organization. The proceeds of CHF 153,875.50 for the last six months go to the Sozialwerk Pfarrer Sieber. In the upcoming six months, the Stiftung Theodora will be supported.

The "Charity Water" project was launched in 2014 as a joint project of Flughafen Zürich AG and Dufry. For every bottle of mineral water sold at the price of CHF 2.50, which is obtained from the Adello spring in Adelboden, 50 centimes are donated to a charitable cause. After the Stiftung Kinderhilfe Sternschnuppe, the Zurich Children's Hospital and the Schweizer Berghilfe, the Sozialwerk Pfarrer Sieber is already the seventh organization to be supported in this way by Flughafen Zürich AG and Dufry. The organizations will now each be considered for six months.

Sozialwerk Pfarrer Sieber

From January 2023 until the end of June 2023 the Sozialwerk Pfarrer Sieber was supported. During this time, proceeds of CHF 153,875.50 were collected. The Sozialwerk Pfarrer Sieber provides pastoral, social, medical and material help to people in need. It creates facilities and runs projects which, for example, enable homeless people and addicts to live in dignity and to experience themselves as full partners in our society.  The Sozialwerk Pfarrer Sieber plans to invest part of the proceeds in the new project "Fraueziit", which was created to better support women without shelter or in vulnerable situations.

Stiftung Theodora

The Stiftung Theodora has now been supported since July 2023. Since 1993, it has pursued the goal of brightening the daily lives of children in hospital and specialized institutions with joy and laughter. Thus, every week the foundation organizes and finances the visit of professional artists - the Dream Doctors - to hospitals and institutions for children with disabilities in Switzerland. Every year, the Dream Doctors give laughter and moments of happiness on thousands of children's visits throughout Switzerland.
