Charity water at Zurich Airport: around 200,000 Swiss francs for the Stiftung Theodora

Summary

A Swiss mineral water is sold in the Avolta (formerly Dufry) duty-free shops at Zurich Airport. 50 cents per bottle are donated to a charitable organization. The proceeds of CHF 198,536.50 from the last six months go to the Stiftung Theodora. In the current half-year, the Stiftung RgZ , which helps people with disabilities, is being supported.

After the Stiftung Pfarrer Sieber, the Kinderhife Sternschnuppe, the Zurich Children's Hospital and others before it, the Stiftung Theodora was the eighth organization to be supported in this form by Flughafen Zürich AG and Avolta. The organizations are each considered for six months.

Stiftung Theodora

The Stiftung Theodora was supported from July to the end of December 2023. During this time, proceeds of CHF 198,536.50 were collected. Since 1993, the Stiftung Theodora has pursued the goal of brightening the everyday lives of children in hospitals and specialized institutions with joy and laughter. Every week, the foundation organizes and finances visits by professional artists – the dream doctors – to hospitals and institutions for children with disabilities in Switzerland. Every year, the dream doctors give laughter and moments of happiness to thousands of children's visits throughout Switzerland. The proceeds from the “Charity Water” project flow into the six different programs of the Stiftung Theodora, which are tailored to the different needs of children in hospital, children with disabilities or who are overweight.

RgZ Foundation

Since January and until the end of June 2024, the RgZ Foundation has been supported with the charity water project. For over 60 years, the RgZ Foundation has been promoting the development, lifestyle and social integration of people with disabilities, regardless of the severity. As part of its activities, the foundation supports, teaches, looks after and employs around 3,000 children, young people and adults around Lake Zurich every year.

About the project
