In October, the number of local passengers was 2,087,028. Transfer passengers amounted to 27%, equal to 775,190 passengers. On 8th October 110,148 passengers travelled through Zurich Airport, which marks a new daily passenger record since the covid-pandemic. 

Year on year, air traffic movements increased by 11% to 23,400 take offs or landings. A monthly comparison shows that air traffic movements are at 97% of the 2019 level. The average passenger per movement figure increased to 139 (+3% vs. previous year). The average seat load factor was as previous year at 82%. 

A total of 33,613 tons of freight were transported at Zurich Airport during the month of October. This led to a decrease of 7% in freight volume compared to last year. Compared to October 2019, freight volume decreased by 13%.
