The group will enjoy a two-hour guided tour of Zurich Airport, accompanied by an experienced tour guide.

The tour of Zurich Airport starts at Arrival 2. On the way to the security check, participants are provided with interesting information about the airlines, check in and much more.

The group will pass through the security check to the Airside Center. The Airside Center is the passenger hub of the airport and was designed to resemble a wing. The large windows offer excellent views of the tarmac. The group can watch aircraft docking or being pushed back for departure. The tour then moves on to the passenger area of the airport. In this area, visitors can witness how the Schengen and non-Schengen zones are separated and the guide will explain the passenger processes involved.

Afterwards, the group will take the Skymetro to Dock E, where they enjoy excellent views of a range of aircraft and the fascinating procedures of docking and pushback. Depending on the time of day, visitors may also be able to observe planes taking off and landing. At Dock E, you will have the opportunity to experience the action on the tarmac up close.

The tour continues with a visit to the baggage sorting system. The pieces of luggage are sorted according to their bar codes and transported to the correct vehicles at an impressive speed on a conveyor belt of over 12 km in length.

The next stop is Observation Deck E with views of the runways, the de-icing pad and the airport conservation area. Guests will again have the chance to watch planes depart and land, whilst learning about the runway system in detail. To finish, the guide will accompany the group back to the main airport complex on the Skymetro. The tour ends back at Arrival 2.

Throughout the tour, guests will have the opportunity to ask questions. All of the guides at the airport have years of experience in flight operations and can answer questions expertly.

Guided airport tour for groups

The tour group will visit the following:

• Airside Center, Schengen/non-Schengen zones
• Skymetro to Dock E
• Baggage sorting system
• Observation Deck E
• Tarmac where possible

The inner Check-in Services right-of-way is located directly in front of the two terminals at Zurich Airport. The Check-in Services zone is used for unloading or loading airport tour guests. Access for buses on the outer right-of-way is prohibited. Access to this zone is via the barrier entrance marked as private on the inner Check-in Services right-of-way. Guests may be unloaded or loaded at the end of the Check-in Services zone. While guests are on the airport tour, the waiting room (P12-300) is available. Guests of the airport tour can be invited back to the Check-in Services zone after the tour.
